Kansas City Fashion Week Part 1

I was so beyond thrilled to watch two shows of Kansas City Fashion Week this past weekend! It was such a fun experience, I met some cool people, and I was inspired by all the stylish and fashionable minds we have here in and around KC! I was lucky enough to attend both the afternoon and evening shows on Saturday and there is so much to discuss so I am going to break it up into a series of posts!

First, I need to talk about the amazing designer Sara Kahrs who showed during the Saturday afternoon show! Every single piece of her collection looked like it belonged in my closet from the use of leather (hello maroon leather pants!), to fur vests, and unique and impeccable construction, I seriously want to buy every piece and wear it on repeat this coming fall. I also had the added bonus of sitting next to her parents during the show, which made it even more exciting to watch her designs come down the runway! Side note: I read somewhere that she is 22, which makes her even more über talented in my book! #lookatyourlifelookatyourchoices

My absolute favorite from the Saturday show was Oblivion Clothing Design by Nataliya Meyer. Her designs were like out of my dreams and I loved everything she sent down the runway, it was SO hard to pick my favorites for this post. I loved her use of sequins (obviously) and her designs had both an ethereal quality with a serious edge, but she pulled it off and it worked. The hairstyles of the models were also so so cool, they were rocker-mohawks, but with a girly quality to them. Her craftsmanship was also outstanding and the pictures can’t really do it justice; I was told she is opening a boutique in the Plaza this month and I can’t wait to go explore her designs in person! Here are some of my favorite looks!

Saturday afternoon was such a fun show and I loved being a part of it! Check out my Instagram, @glaminmo, for some more shots from the shows, including some videos! I’ll be adding more posts this week, including my final outfit choice for the afternoon drawing inspiration from here.

Have a happy start to the week!
